Do we estimate or can you estimate?
Members can complete unlimited estimates on their own or prepay for our professional team to do the work for them
Does the software support Australian cost structures?
Every construction recipe is built from real Australian industry experience. For instance, when you select a five leaf bifold door, the recipe automatically includes a 6m PFC beam.
How accurate and customizable are cost estimation templates?
We provide an eight level cost database that gives builders complete control over their pricing
How long does a standard takeoff take?
A seasoned estimator can complete a full single storey takeoff in just 30 to 60 minutes. As you invest more time into mastering the software, your speed and efficiency will continue to improve.
Can I do 2D and 3D takeoffs in the same tool?
At Estimating Online, we intentionally exclude on screen takeoff tools from our process. While this might seem unusual, there is a vital reason behind it: removing this step dramatically increases our speed and efficiency. Reach out to us to learn more about why skipping traditional takeoff tools allows us to deliver results faster.
Does it come with a pre-loaded Australian price gallery?
Yes, the system includes over 6000 prebuilt construction estimating recipes grounded in real time experience.
Can I create my own "recipes" or assemblies?
Building your own recipes is not available at this time. Please use the request feature to have a recipe created for you.
How does it handle variations?
Builders can have access to understand a change log and also build additional costings within the platform.
Does it integrate with Xero or MYOB?
No, we don’t offer integration with accounting software.
Does it integrate with Builders Project Management Sytems?
Our estimates are ready for immediate export in formats compatible with popular project management software, including:

How does it handle GST?
Our construction estimates are calculated exclusive of GST. The GST component is applied as a final adjustment at the conclusion of the estimating process.
Can I track "Estimate vs. Actuals" in real time?
A specific tool for comparing estimates against actuals is not currently built into the software.
How does it manage subcontractor quotes?
We have updated the bill of quantities with a new feature that allows you to reset your costings to $0. Once reset, you can add a single line item to your estimate containing the full construction quote. We recommend locking the heading after you complete this step.
Can I set different margins for different cost centers?
While the system includes preset margin guides based on cost ranges, you can also utilize the adjustable margin feature for each specific estimation.
What does the final quote look like for the client?
Every completed estimation gives you the power to generate a professional quotation ready for your client. You can fully customise this document to reflect your brand. We suggest including a capability study, an “about us” section, final costs, quantity breakdowns, past projects, and team introductions. Everything you need is possible within our platform.
Is it truly cloud-based?
Yes, this is a cloud based web application. Your data is stored securely in the cloud, and you can log in directly through your web browser.
How hard is it to learn?
The system is remarkably straightforward. You begin by entering data into the system exactly as if you were building the project. We have included preset quantities and prompts to ensure no construction items are overlooked.
What is the support like?
We provide unlimited support during our standard business hours from 8 am to 5 pm. Additionally, our team is often available for after hours assistance until 10 pm. You can also book video screen share calls and access unlimited training sessions.
Can I import my old Excel price lists?
As an Advanced Member, you can access our price database and edit existing prices, but you won’t be able to upload your own pricing lists.
How often is the software updated?
We monitor construction rates daily and make adjustments as we go.
