Define your Budget?
Defining your budget reflects your financial expectations of the building structure.
General Fixtures & Fitting Specification Budget?
Defining your fixtures and fittings budget in construction means specifying the amount allocated to purchase and install various non-structural items in a building or renovation project.
For example:
- Lighting
- Plumbing Fixtures
- Fixings & Hardware
- Floor Coverings
- Cabinets
Define your Builder?
Defining your Builder is a reflection on skill, experience & qualifications.
Defining your Builder means carefully selecting and outlining the Builder’s role to ensure they meet your project needs, comply with your expectations, and contribute to the successful completion of your construction project.
Each type of Builder will have different overhead costs and level of expectation.
Located within 10km major city?
Building within a major city will increase the construction cost. Most builders in the inner city are building high end projects which will incur additional costs.
If your measured distance is less than 10km from a major city, your answer will be yes.
Located on a main road (NU)?
Building along side a major road will increase construction costs. Access and Transport is the major issue increasing construction cost.
A simple reference is by using google maps, all major roads are bold road lines.
Located 1km from the coast?
Building along side the coast will cost increases the construction cost. The structure will require additional treatment to Steel, Aluminium, Mortar and Paint in some situations.
Measure from google earth the point of breaking surf to the edge of the property for your result.
Building Area?
Building Area is a total area of construction works being completed.
Example, if you are completing a new kitchen, you will be required to measure the full area of the Kitchen
Note: Alfresco, Porch, Garage, Decks, Balconies & Patios are included in Building Area.
Demolition?
Demolition Area is a selected area of works.
Example, if you are removing a kitchen, the full area of the kitchen will be required to be consideration in the area calculations.
Are you building on a flat site?
A fall on the property that is greater than 1m is considered a sloping site.
Example, if the left hand side of the property has a site point of 10.0 and the right hand side site point is 11.0. This is a sloping property. Same as front to back.
Another example to determine a sloping property is if the neighbours fence is stepped going up or down.
Is your Building a Complex Structure?
A complex building structure is defined by several factors that make it more intricate and challenging to design, construct, and maintain compared to standard buildings.

House type?
Single Level houses = Single Storey
Two Level Houses = Double Storey
If your project exceeds two levels, you can use Double Storey option however pricing may be conflicting.
Projects that include basements are currently not accepted at Estimating Online.
Number of Bedrooms?
Quantity of Bedrooms.
Number of Bathrooms?
Your Base Build Specification will include 2 bathrooms. If your project has 1 bathroom a deduction may be made, if your project has 3 or more bathrooms, and additional cost may be applied.
How long does it take to complete an estimate?
A Rapid Estimate Pro will take between 10min – 40min to complete pending project complexities.
What format is the estimation present in?
All estimations are downloaded to PDF after completion.
Where are you based?
We are an Australian based company with offices located in Melbourne and Perth.
Experience within the Construction Industry?
Our team has almost 20 years of construction estimating experience.
Working hours of support?
We expect all questions and queries to be responded to within a 24 hour period.
We do work normal business hours Monday to Friday.
Are the estimations suitable for High End Builds?
Yes with selection of Custom Builder and High-end finishes, we do expect our estimations to perform for high end projects.
How do we work out construction margin percentage?
If a builder is taking on a high level of risk completing a construction project we do expect a suitable margin percentage applied. If there is less risk in a project a builder should apply.
What is the purpose of an Estimation?
The purpose of an estimation is to established a construction budget. An estimate can be completed at very early stages of tendering or at final stages of tendering.
How are Estimating Queries resolved?

How do you calculate the base build construction price?
All our base build estimations are calculated using advanced stages of multipliers against the total area of the build.
